A number of the world's largest multi-national companies and biggest regulatory agencies have adopted the Pathatrix system for routine outbreak screening.

Pathatrix was used to identify the source of the E.coli O157:H7 Spinach outbreak in the US in 2007, and several other high profile cases including Hepatitis A in fruit in Canada.
