MATRIX MicroScience opens US subsidiary
MATRIX MicroScience Ltd., (Newmarket, Cambs, UK), has announced the opening of it’s newly-created US subsidiary, MATRIX MicroScience Inc. The office situated 30 minutes from Denver International Airport in Golden, Colorado.
Dr. Phillip Coombs PhD who has been appointed Vice-President – Sales and Marketing, will head the US operation.
Phillip obtained his degree from Cardiff University, U.K in 1983 and went on to join the Advisory Service of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. He was recruited to an international role as company microbiologist with Malthus Instruments, and was transferred to the US in 1990. Since this time Phil has worked for, or acted as consultant to several other companies in the field of rapid methods including IDEXX Laboratories and Chemunex.
Phil has extensive experience in the implementation of new and rapid methods for routine testing; also achieving regulatory approvals for these methods, which will prove beneficial to MATRIX’s US launch.
MATRIX MicroScience recently announced the launch of its unique “Dual Test” , which simultaneously tests for Listeria spp and Salmonella spp contamination in food samples. Previously, tests for each pathogen have had to be conducted separately.
Giving completed test results in just 40 hours, the new PATHATRIX Dual test, has received AOAC* RI Validation after an extensive evaluation process at Campden & Chorleywood Food Research Association. MATRIX’s PATHATRIX system has also received AOAC accreditation for the individual testing of E.coli O157, Listeria spp and Salmonella spp.
Dr. Phillip Coombs commented:
